Date Night!

Last week Craig and I were in  meeting with our Bishop to receive new callings and afterwards was giving us a word of advice. He looked to Craig and said "You're taking control and taking your wife out once a week right?" Of course Craig nodded his head "yes." When we got in the car I gave Craig one of my famous "oh no you didnt!!" looks. Baffled he asked what the look was for. I proceeded to tell him that He doesnt take control and take me on dates, because in reality it's usually ME who brings up the idea of going out on the weekends.

So since he lied to the Bishop and said he took control i decided to let him live up to what he'd said. I didnt ask him out on a date that week, or mention the idea of a date. Thursday night came and still no date proposal, so when i was asked to babysit so someone else could go out i was all over it. Saturdy morning i asked Craig what the plan was for that night and He said he didnt know, so i gave him options for dinner and of course he chose what he wanted. Later that night I had stuff sitting out to make dinner when i got a phone call......It was Craig...from our bedroom! He asked if i'd like to go on a date that night, and if 5:30 was a good time to pick me up.

At 5:30 He walked out the door without a word, and of course i thought he was just going out to his truck for something. A few seconds later I hear  knock on the door, I answer and it's Craig of course. We preceeded with the date as though it was our first. Comments like "sorry i was late" and "sorry about the car, i had to borrow my mom's" were exchanged. It was defintely one of the best dates he and i have been on in  long time, and I would be lying if i didnt say that i love his personality and humor. Those are 2 characteristics that first made me fall in love with him.

I am so thankful for a Husband who is so caring and sweet that he would do something so silly, but romantic just to make me happy. I am such a lucky girl.
